Data Protection Statement
The BFBB respects, and is fully committed to protecting the rights and privacy of individuals,
and considers that the legitimate treatment of personal information is crucial to our aims.
The BFBB complies fully with the requirements of the Data Protection
Act 1998. We ensure our procedures comply with the eight main principles
outlined within the act.
The BFBB Data Protection Policy is to hold data that is relevant
only to the purpose of enhancing the medium of brass music performance
through advancement in education, public performance and media recognition
of such medium.
The BFBB will retain information only for so long as it may be
required for this purpose.
The BFBB will only disclose or transfer information in accordance
with our registration purpose.
Data will only be used for sales or marketing purposes where we
consider that such purpose may be beneficial to the subject.
The BFBB web-sites do not use cookies, capture information or install
any code.
Subjects have right of access to all information we retain about
them. The normal administration charge of ten pounds will apply
upon receipt of an access request. An access request should be made
in writing to the Data Controller, British Federation of Brass Bands,
Unit 12, Maple Estate, Stocks Lane, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75
2BL.
The subject will be forwarded a copy of information highlighted
in the access request within the required period of forty days.
Complaints regarding any matter relating to the data we retain
should be made in writing to the Data controller.
The BFBB will record complaints and will periodically review its
data policy in the light of complaint.
